Illinois Performance Excellence (ILPEx) is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization founded in 1994 as The Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence. From the beginning, we have used the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence to further the progress of Illinois companies. We apply a disciplined examination, consultation and deployment of seven categories to achieve performance excellence.
ILPEx founders are among the most respected and successful Illinois companies. Our senior fellows are the statesmen of Illinois business, applying the wisdom of decades to the pursuit of performance excellence. Together with our supporting sponsor organizations, our Examiners and Judges lead a disciplined process in a statewide in a statewide drive for excellence.
We nurture, develop and highlight excellence among five sectors: business, education, government, healthcare and not-for-profit. Our pursuit of performance excellence anticipates the fast pace of technology change and global competition. Since its inception, more than 200 organizations have participated and 1,400 volunteers have served as Examiners or Judges, all in the pursuit to improve processes, performance and give the economy of the State of Illinois a competitive advantage.
